If you have ever watched late night tv, you’ve probably seen David Lettermen, Carson Dailey, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Jay Leno, or any other hilarious late-night hosts perform a show.

They fill their shows with comedy, celebrities, music, and most importantly, lots of laughs. These shows are a great way to wind down from a stressful day if you can stay awake for it.

These shows are geared toward adults and teens that can stay awake late. The late-night shows are always on or after 11 pm, but not everyone can stay up until 11 pm

2020 saw a different type of host and show air. The Not Too Late Show[1] debuted on May 27th with a star-studded cast. Jimmy Fallon was the first person to appear on the show, but not as a host. Jimmy Fallon was a guest.

The host of the show was the lovable Sesame Street puppet named Elmo.

The Not Too Late Show was a late-night show for kids, designed to teach them about bedtime routines by having on guests, playing silly games, and singing songs. The show is on the HBO Network, and I think it is great that someone didn’t forget the kids in 2020.

Jesus was also good about not forgetting the kids. While everyone else thought the kids maybe weren’t that important, Jesus made it clear He thinks the world of them.

15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them.

16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

17 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
– Luke 18:15-17

Jesus didn’t forget about the children. He called us to love the children.

48 Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”
– Luke 9:48 (NIV)

Jesus was also very protective of children and cautioned us to make sure we don’t cause them to stumble in their faith.

“But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone hung around your neck.
– Mark 9:42 (NLT)

Just like Elmo didn’t forget about the children, so too did Jesus care about the children.
